The following
letter has come into my possession from the German military archives. It is
an excerpt from a journal made by William Shirer during the war and describes
the arrival of survivors from the Operation which took place a Shingle Street.
I would be most interested to hear from anyone on the continent- in France,
Belgium or Germany with further information concerning the attempted landing
along the East coast of Britain in August 1940.
It is my firm belief that there must still be survivors who were involved with
this operation and I would very much like to hear from them and add their testimony
to this site.
Anyone with first or second hand evidence of these events is asked to contact

or email the site author with testimony and any comments you may have relating to these events or to this website.
